SM110-47-Lite EDF System

The SM110-47-Lite EDF System features the same new 11 blade rotor as the SM110-47, which is designed for both lightness and aerodynamic efficiency. It has a 5 bladed carbon fibre stator assembly and a CNC machined motor tube which is designed for 39mm diameter motors of length right up to the HET 700-83 series although the 700-98 series can be used with a small section of the motor protruding. The rotor design has narrower blades than what would normally be expected, which allows cooler motor temperatures due to less torque demand. The HET 700-83 and 700-98 series motors are an excellent choice, and our first choice for factory built plug and play systems. The shroud is hand made solid carbon fibre. The carbon fibre stator assembly is bonded to the motor tube and shroud with aerospace grade methyl-methacrylate adhesive to ensure structural integrity even at high motor temperatures. Comparing the SM110-47-Lite and SM110-47 the differences are lighter weight and slightly less rigidity due to 2 less stator blades. The SM110-47-Lite is an excellent choice for lower power applications than would be used in the SM110-47 or where ultimate light weight is demanded. For ultra light weight a 700-83 series motor can be used at power levels no greater than 4500-5000W. A custom HET 700-83-850kV motor is available on request.

Note that these figures are taken on a test stand with a radiussed inlet lip and open exhaust. Your figures will be close but not exactly the same as a lot depends on the voltage your lipos deliver under load, the air temperature, humidity, altitude as well as inlet duct design and exhaust duct diameter
